Nkuringo gorilla family.
This mountain gorilla group derived its name from the Nkuringo around the hill where they were first spotted by trekkers. The Nkuringo gorilla family was officially presented for tourism in 2004, after the habituation of the mountain gorilla family under the control of the elderly Nkuringo silverback, which later died in April 2008.
Bushaho gorilla family.
Bushaho gorilla family is another habituated mountain gorilla family in the Nkuringo sector, formed when gorillas left the Bikyangi gorilla group in the Rushaga sector. Later in 2012, some members came from the Nkuringo gorilla family to form the Bushaho mountain gorilla family and the Christmas gorilla family, which are located in the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi.
When is the best time to go to Nkuringo sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park in 2024/2025?
Gorilla trekking experience in Nkuringo sector can be carried out in all seasons but the best time is in the dry season when the trekking trails are not slippery the dry season starts in the months of June to September and again from December to February.
