The Kimbla Mantana tented camp is perfectly furnished for the environment, with luxurious and spacious enough tents on wooden decks with large rooms and en-suite facilities such as private verandahs, toilets, bathrooms with running showers, and sitting rooms overlooking Lake Mburo. 

The Kimbla Mantana tented camp has nine guest tents; each of the nine tents is set on a wooden platform with a veranda, a twin or double room, a dressing room, and an en-suite bathroom with a hot or cold shower and toilet. Hot water is always provided in the dressing room.

Lake Mburo National Park has a network of game drive tracks. The wildlife densities depend on the time of year, plus the lack of elephants allows the thick scrub to grow where there are grassy plains.

Lake Mburo national park game drive offers a great chance of finding substantial concentrations of impala, waterbuck, zebra, topi, and buffalo.

Lake Mburo National Park allows travelers to experience wildlife species in darkness on two- to three-hour night game drives. The night game drives start at about 6:30 p.m., and the night game drives give travelers an opportunity to see nocturnal animals such as bush babies, pottos,  leopards, and hyenas at their most active moments.

Walking Safari

Lake Mburo National Park is available to be explored on foot, as long as you take a guide with you. Favorite trekking trails are the salt lick section at Rwonyo, the lake shorelines, Rubanga Forest, and viewpoint hill tops.

Walking within Lake Mburo National Park is another exciting way to discover the park because sight-seeing is often restricted by the thick undergrowth, and it is hard to see buffalo holding their ground or spotting hyenas loping back after a busy night on the prowl. Walking or hiking are also the best ways for bird lovers.

Boat Safari

Taking a boat safari to the water is always peaceful, welcoming, and part of any safari adventure. You often see the dust and the tsetse flies and experience life in the bush from a different angle. A 90-minute morning boat cruise takes tourists along the shore of Lake Mburo. The boat cruise includes sightings of buffaloes, hippo, fish eagles, kingfishers, and hammertoes.

Birding

Lake Mburo National Park boasts acacia woodland and wetlands, making it a popular destination for birders. Bird watching can be done by vehicle and foot; sight-seeing is also facilitated by viewing platforms built along the forest and by salt licks. The swampy valleys of Waruki, Miriti, and the roadsides approaching the jetty offer the best birding hub.

Horse Riding

Lake Mburo is the only protected area in Uganda where tourists can participate in riding horses. Horseback riding is operated by Mihingo Lodge.

December to February and from June to September are the best months that make up the brief dry season. Due to the mild, dry weather, these are the ideal months to explore Lake Mburo Park. There are probably less insects around, such as mosquitoes, and there is not as much foliage.
